Strickland Stone

Strickland “Stone” Stone is a founding member and bass player for Jamaican roots reggae band Dubtonic Kru. Originally a drum and bass duo, Dubtonic Kru filled out their sound with friends. The band won the title “Best New Band in the World” at the 2010 Global Battle of the Bands World Finals in Malaysia. Stone has been performing with Dubtonic Kru for over a decade and a half, having toured with Burning Spear, Bushman, and Mighty Diamonds, among others. In 2011, Dubtonic Kru received a U.S. Congressional Proclamation and the Simba Award from the Coalition to Preserve Reggae. Stone continues to write, record, and perform.
