I Love My Myrtle Tenor, This Blonde is having a lot of FUN!
I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I wanted the Elite Series Hawaiian KOA Ukulele, I couldn't find one anywhere in a Tenor. So I called Kala, they were absolutely the coolest cats in CA. They asked me if I had heard about their Myrtle Elite? So they sent me a bunch of material to educate myself with this new wood. To make a long story short, I listened to the Myrtle Tenor, live, it has a sound that I fell in love with and the love affair continues every day I pick this beauty up and play it. The strings that come with this Ukulele are the best I have ever played, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I LOVE my new Kala Uke!
The Myrtle is gorgeous to look at but, more importantly, has a beautiful rich sound. It is definitely my favourite of my ukulele collection. I love playing it. Pieces I have been working on for a while now seem easier to play!
One question: there are rings on the outside of the case. Is there supposed to be a strap with it, to clip onto those rings? The case is beautiful and a lovely surprise!

Artisan Quality Beauty and Tone
I treasure my playing time on this instrument. First of all, the figuring in the wood grain is stunning. The ebony fretboard complements the wood perfectly. The friction tuners are outstanding quality and balance the concert size well. The tone is BEAUTIFUL. It is a pleasure to play. And finally, the Oregon Myrtle SMELLS SO GOOD. I love the fragrance of this wood. It warms up in my arms and releases the most pleasant wood scent. I am in love with it. Thank you so much to the luthiers at Kala.
