Kala Artist Julia Nunes

Julia Nunes was born into a musical family in Fairport, NY, her father a pianist and composer of children’s songs. Julia got her start on piano, and later guitar, before picking up ukulele in 2005. She began uploading videos to Youtube to share with friends while away at college. After hearing her ukulele cover of his song “Gone,” Ben Folds invited her to open four shows for him in 2008. She made her television debut performing her song “Stay Awake” on Conan in 2012. She released her fifth solo album, Some Feelings, in 2015. Julia has her own engraved Kala ukulele available for purchase on her website.
