Blem? What Blem?

This ukulele was offered at a substantially reduced price because of a blemish. I have three other Kala's, none of them all-solid, and really enjoy playing them, so I took a chance. This uke is all koa, front, back and sides, with Kala's typical superior quality. The blemish turns out to be a 1/6th inch divot on the back of the tuning board, completely invisible when I'm playing the instrument. The sound is already wonderful, and it has rapidly become my favorite ukulele. It was worth twice the price. Whenever Kala offers us a deal, it's well worth a serious look.

Blemish!?? What blemish???

Could not be happier with my Kala ukulele. I took it to a friend's house on Easter who is a local Hawaiian musician from Maui (we all note now reside in Utah) and he did not want to give it back to me. Love the old style head also, reminds me of our old school ukuleles.

Great Value

Arrived 2 weeks ago noted as blemish in finish. KALA must adhere to very high standards, because cannot find it. The mellow deep sound I was looking.

Nice ukulele

This uke has a nice middle to high sound. I'm still getting used to playing it and am presently lowering the action by sanding the bridge down by about 1mm. (It was a high on arrival.) The neck is comfortable and easy to finger. The fret edges are a bit sharp, but this may change as spring brings a more humidity to the instrument. The price is very fair, I bought a blemished one, that only has a few marks on it. Unfortunately the Kala strap didn't easily clip onto the body's input peg, I just gave up on that and put on an old strap. Overall, the uke is very lightweight and I'm looking forward to a developing sound as it matures. I also wish I could find more information (up front on the description page) about the wood quality, I'm assuming if it doesn't say solid it's a laminate top and sides. That would be nice to know.

Very satisfied

The ukelele is beautiful. I couldn't find any blems. Only thing I didn't like were the strings, but that is

a personal thing. I prefer the sound and feel of Worth strings. Uke was well packaged and I received it

quickly. Looking forward to many hours of fun. Thanks for making a nice instrument at an affordable price.
