A cousin of the Hawaiian Koa Gloss line, the Solid Spruce Top Koa Gloss line pairs an Engelmann Spruce top with Hawaiian Koa back and sides sealed in a gloss finish to bring out the grain of the wood. Good value for the money

The uke arrived well packed, in great shape. Shipping time was pretty spot on. It's nicely constructed and though sold as a "blem," it took a while to find the spot and it's so minor that it's essentially invisible. The sound is quite good for the price. The strings are not surprisingly not the greatest, but easily rectified with a new, better set. Overall, the sound is quite good for this range of an instrument. The fit and finish are good, as is the intonation, and as are the nut and saddle. One complaint: A stringed instrument should never be shipped fully tuned as it can put undue stress on it. It seems fine given the mild weather, but in the future I recommend strings be loosened before shipping. Another complaint: the batteries appear to be dead, so they must have been checked before the instrument shipped. Overall, those are minor points, and satisfaction remains high.
