Fun to Play
This is just a sweet sounding Ukulele, fun to play and gorgeous to look at it. I have a large collection and this is one of my prized instruments.
The Solid Cedar Series is adding two new variations with 6-string and 8-string tenor models for 2019. Cedar continues to be a popular tonewood due to its rich harmonics and lush tone, making it great for fingerstyle picking. The Acacia back and sides add a midrange focus with clarity and warmth. Padauk rosette and binding and a slotted headstock add a classy touch. The tremendous sound and projection of these ukes make them great for performing.

It’s really a good looking instrument and plays beautifully. I am a huge fan of Kala for quality and affordability, does not disappoint
The materials that make up this ukulele present a spectacular product in sunlight. The tone is great, although I will probably replace the weak-sounding G string with a wound low G. I now own four Kala tenor instruments, and each is perfect for my collection.
I was surprised at how nice this ukulele looks, the pics online don't do it justice. The set up was good right out of the box, including the tuning- only some minor turning of the pegs was needed to get it in proper tune. As is the case with all new strings, frequent tuning is required but it was a big help to have it close to begin with, especially with the paired strings. The six string sound is sweet and full, and the projection is strong. Highly recommended.
The paired. octave C and A strings gives a different, fuller sound from a standard 4-string or 5-string ukulele. It is very pleasing to my ear. It may not be the best for all songs but so far (after two weeks) it sounds great on all the songs I have played. The cedar top provides a very different tone to the mahogany, koa, and bamboo ukes I already owned. A really nice addition to the collection.
