Bought this one and the standard mahogany soprano with standard soprano neck length. This long-neck one had the better intonation and string tension and, most important, the better space for my hands on the fretboard. The sound was almost identical, if not better/fuller on the long-neck. What I better liked on the standard one, was the natural mahogany look. The dark coloured wood with the lighter fretboard didn't fit my taste so much. So I was in a little struggle, which one I should keep.
I send the standard one back, cause I wanted a full usable instrument, also playable in the higher frets. But stil there was the dark colour I didn't like so much. So, few days later, I were sitting in the garden on a sunny day with my new ukulele, some sanding paper and beer. I ground down the paint completely with 400 and finished with 1200 grain. I sealed it with some timberex oil 2-3 times. And now it looks and smells beautiful, the surface is smooth like silk and the sound got even better (in my opinion) ;-)
Now I've got the perfect hybrid between sweet soprano sound, great portability, nice look and feel, also for bigger hands. Got my full recommedation.
