We’ve taken the Swamp Ash California U•BASS® with its natural, transparent satin finish and livened it up with a dark, rich, semi-transparent Forest Green stain. The Swamp Ash grain, that ranges from straight cut lines to curly loops, can be seen beneath the layer of color. The grain pattern takes on this green color and becomes even darker than the stained wood. This makes each uniquely patterned U•BASS a one-of-a-kind piece of art!

Every California U•BASS boasts exceptional low-end and outstanding craftsmanship which makes this series a perfect fit for next-level bass players. This U•BASS is handmade in California using custom-made parts, including the Kala + LR Baggs preamp that delivers a huge low end and tonal versatility. This custom preamp lets the California U•BASS produce the deep signature bass tone that the U•BASS is known for, while adding clarity in the mid-range and upper registers. Plug-in and experience the full range of what the U•BASS has to offer!

String Disclaimer

All California U•BASS® are meant to be strung with proprietary, polyurethane Road Toad Strings. Kala Round Wounds, Flatwounds, and High C Strings will not work on the California Solid Body U•BASS.

Better than I expected

Looks good, plays great. The sound is very bass heavy and thuddy unless you push the treble boost on it more and then it will start to gain more of a rubbery/woody/standup sound. Honestly for the right genre of music this is an extremely gig worthy instrument. I've mostly used the instrument with a Phil Jones Double Fourth and a Mark Bass Combo II. Works great with both in my opinion.
