These were a great retrofit for the toylike original tuners on my DArmond Ashbory bass. It took some woodworking skills. Not a straight swap. You need to fill the old holes, then make cardboard templates (traced from the new Kala tuners) to carefully locate the new holes for the new tuners. Then drill new holes and install! I refinished my headstock to cover up the old holes. The new tuners work great.
