Solid Body U•BASS® Gray Tweed Hard Case

One of the first upgrades I did to both my Kala solid body uke basses was replace the tuners with Gotoh style keys with the larger tuning keys. Doing so made it harder to fit the basses in the gig bag, and finding a third party gig bag the right overall size has been very challenging. After seeing the tweed case on the website I pulled the trigger. The case fits perfectly and accommodates the larger tuners well. Very nice plush interior material, good hardware and nice overall quality for the price, much like the basses themselves. The tweed material is rough enough that band stickers probably won’t stick. Also hoping for more colors.

Was not as heavy as expected but is a substantial hard case that provides good protection for my Kala 4-string solid bass. I also bought one for my Kala 5-string solid bass which has a wider support to accommodate the wider neck, but the overall case size is the same as the 4-string case. At first, I thought the handle on the end of the cases was rather odd, but it has proven to be very helpful with transport. Definitely recommend this case if you take your bass on the road with any regularity. The gig bag that comes with the solid u-bass is good, but this hard case gives better protection.
