At Kala we do our best to provide high quality string options for our players. For our Kala Elite USA Ukulele String Set, we’ve teamed up with one of the best of the best—Worth Ukulele Strings. Worth and Kala have gone to great lengths to optimize this set for Kala ukuleles. The sound of these 100% fluorocarbon brown strings can be described as warm, mellow, and astonishingly clear. They have a clean, natural sustain and plenty of projection. When we customized the gauges of these strings, we took the lead from Kala artist, Corey Fujimoto, creating a thicker C string with the intention of delivering a more robust presence in the low end of the instrument. This makes the entire set sound richer, fuller, and more consistent from string to string. Worth Ukulele Strings is a Japanese company that is well known for their fluorocarbon string material that enhances intonation, note clarity, and sustain.

Beautiful sound

Not sure whether to use a high g or low g? Kala Elite strings give you both. As a matter of fact one set give you enough string to do two complete ukuleles plus the extra high and low g strings. How do they sound? All the strings appear to be Worth Browns, except for the low Kala g. They blend together beautifully, settle in quickly, are easy on your fingers and have become one of my favorites. Please don’t think they are only for the Elite model Kalas. They sound fantastic in my lower priced Flame Maple as well.

If you’re looking for a new set of strings you should definitely consider giving these a try!

String theory

Excellent clarity and brightness. My preference is for strings with a thicker gauge. These feel slippery to me as well. A better player would probably find these not to be issues at all. They do contribute to the ukes beautiful sound (koa elite gloss).

Made for Kala Ukuleles

These are slightly different in diameter than regular Worth Strings. Sound very good on my Dog Hair Mahogany Concert. All but low-G string are 63" long so you can string two ukuleles with one set.

Kala Elite USA Brown Fluorocarbon Strings

This has become my string of choice for fingerpicking as well as articulate strumming. I used to make my own combination of strings from Worth brown strings keeping the low G string for the "C" string and using a different low G string, but this set of strings makes that unnecessary. Nice work Kala.

Brown Fluorocarbon strings

I am an intermediate uke player. I have tried many strings. This particular set is great for players who like some substance in their playing. The sounds are more distinct and there is a nice balance in the string set. I have them on my Kala supertenor. They project very well.
