Bamboo is the most sustainable choice for musical instruments. Highly renewable, Bamboo regenerates quickly without being replanted—sometimes growing up to three feet per day! The straight grain of this “grass” is actually stronger than most hardwoods. This is my second U-BASS - the other is a mahogany Scout. I am very well pleased with the bamboo U-BASS. I really like its appearance and people find it interesting that it is bamboo. Even though it was sold as blemished, the quality is excellent. The only thing I could find after much examination was a little roughness in the finish in a couple places. I was able to easily take care of that with some extra fine sandpaper.

The bamboo is bright and beautiful just like the tone. My 2nd U•Bass and I put flatwounds on this one to complete the brightness, giving me two different flavors of U•Bass.
