The beautiful Striped Ebony U•BASS® has a deep brown color with reddish-brown striping. One of the finest woods for instruments, Striped Ebony is a high-density wood that has superior tonal qualities. The light Maple binding creates a striking contrast with the dark Ebony body, that makes the variants in the striping stand out. It is the best U-BASS I have ever played. It has an incredible deep, rich upright bass-like sound when played directly through my PJB Double -four amplifier. I get compliments on its sound from professional old time fiddle musicians. It looks great. It is light and easy to play. I love the black Pahoehoe strings ; they are not sticky and sliding up and down the neck is easy. The Fishman tuner and equalizer work very well.

I've received many compliments on the wood, let alone the instrument is a joy to play.
