For the ukulele enthusiast with an interest in acoustic guitar, and vice versa, the Kala Solid Mahogany Top Sunburst Tenor Guitar is the perfect place to start. Our Tenor Guitar is shorter and lighter than traditional tenor guitars, making it suitable for children and players with smaller hands and fingers, as well as for fingerpicking or strumming. This tenor guitar features a solid mahogany top with an earthy brown sunburst finish paired with mahogany back and sides for a timeless appearance and a warm, rich tone. The standard tuning is CGDA, but it holds alternate tunings and open tunings just as well. Each Tenor Guitar comes in a gig bag.

The Tenor Guitar as an instrument has an eclectic and storied past as a specialty 4-string guitar in the bluegrass and folk genres. Popular contemporary players like Warren Ellis and Neko Case have helped to keep this instrument in the public eye.

Love it.

Really like my tenor guitar! Your customer service advised me as to which strings to use to tune it D_G_B_E and it's working out nicely. I might look into using the top 4 strings of the set as opposed to the bottom 4 strings, but I think that would require filing the nut to allow for the thicker strings, and I'm not sure I want to permanently alter the nut in case I don't like it that way. First world problems. Thanks you!

Nice Little Tenor Guitar

Small, comfortable, nice looking and easy to play. Not the loudest instrument out there but it sounds good to me. A bit rustic in its looks. The neck in particular has a texture to it. The action seems fine and it plays well right out of the box. The only negative I have is that the fret ends are a bit sharp and could use a little smoothing, but it's not a deal breaker in any way. I'm very happy with this guitar.

Solid mahogany top sunburst tenor guitor

Looked good & sounded good, but I had to return it due to the neck being so thin that I could not play notes or chords clearly. I was very positively impressed with the customer service, particularly by Will. He was extremely helpful and accomodating. I will just keep carrying on with my Kala baritone ukelele, which I like very much. Thanks for everything.
