I think it's fabulous, it sounds great and plays well, fits in my lap in my favorite chair,,,, I only had to adjust the intonation which is easy with a good tuner, your own ears, and the adjustable saddles at the bridge,,, mine was too sharp at the 12th fret, so i lengthened the strings a bit, now it's perfect. I-I-I-I-I-I,,,,, Like it!
Have loved playing my acoustic-electric Kala U•Bass for a couple of years now, and the warm, dark tone of it is perfect for a lot of stuff I do, but there are times when I want a more typical electric bass/roundwound string sound. Have been waiting for the new solid body U•Basses to come out, and jumped on this when they did. It was just what I was hoping for. Quite playable straight out of the box -- haven't even bothered to tweak the setup in the couple of weeks I've had it so far. No issues I've noticed with components or build quality. Sounds great through either my old Ampeg BA112 or my Phil Jones Bass Nanobass X4. I'm not sure you can fit more fun into a smaller package than either U•Bass with the X4.

I've really been enjoying playing my UBass. I'm pretty amazed at the sounds produced by it. My wife can't tell if I'm playing this as opposed to one of my larger basses. It's guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
