U•Bass Artist
Lamont McCain
(Anthony Hamilton)
Born and raised in New York, Lamont McCain’s passion for music began with a deep appreciation for quartet gospel music. Initially a guitar player, he quickly developed a steadfast love for the sound of the bass and how it held together the foundation and groove of the music, prompting him to pick up the instrument at age 16. He landed his first professional gig at the age of 17 with the Late Rev Timothy Wright. Currently, he’s the the Music Director and Bassist for Grammy Artist Anthony Hamilton. McCain has played and toured with DJ Logic, Vernon Ried (Living Color), K-Ci & JoJo, Wyclef and City High, Sunshine Anderson, Maimouna Youssef and DJ Dummy, and many more. In 2019, he took the U•Bass to a national stage at the NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte, NC, performing the National Anthem with Anthony Hamilton.
