Kala U-Bass Artist Doug Wimbish

Doug Wimbish is a bassist from Bloomfield, CT, who found his passion for bass while as a 16 year old. Doug took up bass while studying music theory at Hartford Conservatory, and after graduating, helped form the legendary in-house rhythm section for Sugarhill Records. Soon after, he would move to London, and in 1984, formed Tackhead. Through Jeff Beck, Doug met Mick Jagger, with whom he would perform in his solo career, as well as with The Rolling Stones. In 1991, he joined Living Colour, and later formed Jungle Funk and Headfake. Doug has released one solo album and also performed or recorded with Mos Def, Annie Lennox, and Seal, among others. He continues to write, record, and perform today.
