The Spalted Mango U•BASS® showcases the dramatic wood figuring caused by the spalting process. Known for clarity, tight lows, and ample sustain, this model has great dynamic range over the tonal spectrum. It comes equipped with Hipshot Ultralite™ Tuners, Kala Round Wound Strings by LaBella, and a Fishman® Kala U•BASS® EQ.
This model is incompatible with Road Toad Polyurethane string conversions.

Initially, I was a little disappointed with the U base because one of the strings buzzed and I couldn’t get it to stop. I contacted Kala and they said they would send me a new pair of strings flat wound instead of round wound. This made a huge difference and I am now very pleased with the U base. Also, it should be noted that the spalted mango is beautiful. Couldn’t ask for a better looking instrument.
