Great bass, put flat wounds on it to save the fretless board face. more tension but has a nice muaw and smooth as silk. I love it.I have the Solid 5 fretted and the California Koa fretted 5 also. I love them all. Don't play the slew of various scale basses anymore. Don't even miss them.

My first fretless U-Bass and I'm "over the top" with satisfaction. My other acoustic-elec UBass' are fine builds and work as advertised, but this SOLID body is a 100% improvement in quality and playability. I've swapped to the Flat-wounds and the playability has improved even more. I'm enjoying the added flexibility of the fretless play and have no regrets in making the purchase and the switch! My only wish is for an option for a different pick guard (white is so boring!!)

So far, I love this bass! So much fun to play. Solid build, high quality.
Being fretless, I just wish it had come with flatwound strings instead of the round wounds. I have a request in to be notified when they come in as you said you were out of stock.

Being in my 80's with accompanying arthritis the U*Bass is perfect for my needs. Being fretless and with a shorter neck it is much more manageable than a traditional bass guitar. I now alternate sessions between the U*Bass and my two Kala ukuleles.
