A fan-favorite from our Americana Series, the Black Maple Banjo Concert Ukulele is patterned after banjoleles from the 1920s and 1930s, when the instrument was at the height of its popularity.

With a twangy tone, mellowed by its nylon strings, this Kala banjolele design is outfitted with a Remo Weatherking® Banjo Head, Maple shell with a Black Matte finish, a floating bridge, and a custom Banjolele gig bag.

Love the Kala Banjolele, -- Once I got it up to speed.

Excellent workmanship and a quality product. After it arrived, however, I found the action to be incredibly high and the intonation on the first couple frets pulled w-a-y sharp. I took it to a professional, who adjusted the bridge, re-strung, and filed down the nut. The instrument is now a joy to behold. Full, rich sound and an easy transition from a standard uke. Just be sure yours is set up the way you want it.

    Nice banjo ukulele

I really like this banjo ukulele. Reminds me of one I had from the 20's, which was hard to keep in tune. This one is easy to play and holds the tuning. Thanks Kala for another amazing instrument at a great price.

    classic look

When I saw the retro look, I knew I had to get one. The finish does a reasonable job of mimicking the old banjo ukes of a century ago. (They can't use the toxic finishes like in the old days.) The pseudo-antique brass is also a nice touch. Only two annoyances: The tuners are not great (which is true for most instruments retailing under $1000) and the finish is a little splotchy (which I plan to rectify with some steel wool).

    Fantastic!

Great sound, plays fast, feels REALLY solid. Only thing I would change is adding an armrest. It’s a bit sharp under the arm and most armrests you find online are for a standard banjo size.
