Contour All Solid Gloss Acacia Tenor Ukulele w/ Bag

I’ve been waiting weeks for this to come in (ordered it through my local music store), but when it did, it blew me completely away. This is my first completely non-laminate ukulele, so I don’t have a broad range of experience when it comes to solid wood; however, I have other solid wood instruments and have used those as the bar to measure this uke up to. This uke shattered my expectations, in both sound/tone and aesthetics. She’s sweet on the ears and easy on the eyes. The fit and finish on the neck is great too, I love the satin finish, it makes playing so smooth (my other Kala ukes have been the: KA-KSLNG, and the KA-CGE, both having gloss necks.). I thought that the scale size would be rather difficult for my small hands, but it seems Kala thought of that possibility. The neck profile and extra nut width give me a lot of leverage to maneuver my fingers adroitly across the fretboard. I cannot honestly find a single aspect to complain about. I absolutely adore her.

I should start by saying I was surprised at what a beautiful instrument this is for the price. I have some much more expensive ukuleles that don’t have the lovely wood I received on this one.

The fit and finish are exceptional and the Contour has nicely done bling that gives it the look of a more expensive instrument without overdoing it.

It seemed a little quiet when I first got it, but it has opened up and sounds very pleasant now.

If I were to look for a criticism the only thing I can think of is that it’s a little heavy, but not so much as to make it distracting. All in all I’m very pleased.

I was blown away by how beautiful this looked once I received it. And it sounds equally as good. The instrument came setup very well, meaning the action was good and no issues with buzzing, etc. Highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a nice tenor size Ukulele
