This Contour Series tenor from Kala is a stunner. The solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides don’t just look gorgeous—they deliver a clear, punchy sound with great projection and tonal balance. The purpleheart binding, glossy finish, and slotted headstock really give it that premium look and feel.
Build quality is solid. The comfort edge and Venetian cutaway are thoughtful touches that make it super playable, especially up the neck. Out of the box, the setup needed a little love—the saddle was a bit high for my taste, but lowering it was easy. I swapped the strings to fluorocarbons, which I personally prefer over the stock Aquilas, and it opened up the tone even more.
It comes with a really nice padded gig bag, but I also grabbed a molded Kala case for extra protection on the go. Overall, this uke is a steal for the price. I’ve tried other brands in the same range, and Kala's quality absolutely stands out. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a uke that feels and sounds like a high-end instrument without breaking the bank.

I have been waiting for kala to make a ukulele like this. This thing is awesome. I put a passive pick up in mine sounds great. The price is right on for a ukulele of this quality. You won’t be sorry you bought ukulele. It’s beautiful and not over done.

The new design elements are subtle and make the instrument unique.

This has become my favorite ukulele to play. It has a beautiful sound. It looks beautiful as well. I keep a soft cloth handy to clean off the finger prints on the gloss finish. It came with high G nylon strings which I swapped out with D’Adarrio fluorocarbon low G strings which are much more to my liking. I highly recommend this Uke to anyone seeking ukulele heaven.
