My 8 String arrived two weeks ago but in my eagerness to play it, I ended up breaking one of the E strings. I am still relatively new to playing the Uke, just twelve months now. I have never played an instrument before. I had a friend, who is a Uke instructor, change the string and tune the Uke, so now I have been playing for the past week, absolutely loving the sounds it generates. I now have four Ukes, a soprano travel Uke, a concert Uke, a 4string Kala tenor w/eq, and the new 8 string. It is a beautiful instrument, and now that I have a better feel for it, it is fairly easy to tune. A side note, this past winter I have had to have three surgeries for kidney stones, and have brought my soprano Uke to the hospital each time, playing the Uke, dressed in my Johnny, just before and after the surgeries, for the hospital staff, bringing a little happiness to these medical folks who have done so much for us in this time of Covid. Yay!!
