The Solid Cedar Top with Acacia back and sides in a shiny, gloss finish, trimmed out in Rosewood binding is a sleek combination. We added an Abalone rosette, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and chrome inline tuners.
Cedar has a soft, lush tone that lends well to finger style playing. It has a natural, loud projection and is often recommended as the best ukulele for playing on stage. Available in Long Neck Soprano, Concert, Tenor, Tenor Cutaway with EQ, 6 String Tenor, 8 String Tenor, Baritone, and 8 String Baritone.

I love the sound of this ukulele and played it almost daily since I bought it. I kept it safely in a well-padded case that I purchased from Kala with humidity control. Three months after the 1-year warranty period expired, the bridge came clear off (see photo). The fix by a professional luthier, Kala assures me, will be easy and not *too* expensive, but I wonder if the pressure of 8 strings is just too much for the glue of a ukulele-sized bridge, of if the bridge on this particular ukulele was deficient.

Kala never disappoints. This is my third Kala and I'm again satisfied with the quality of the workmanship, intonation, and playability. An 8 string is great for getting the right sound to play Eagles, John Denver, and a few Zeppelin tunes.
