I played a number of ukuleles at a music store in California, almost all Kala ukes, and this one was the last one I played and the only one that truly stood out among the crowd, sounding more clear and resonant than even models two or three times more expensive. I was visiting from out of state, but I ordered one right away from Kala's website.
Since I received it, I've been playing it almost constantly. It sounds so lovely and resonant, so full in body and easy to project, even without any electric amplification. I'm thrilled with the quality, the value, and the service.

This is my first ukulele and it’s been a joy to play. I was expecting to have to tune it more frequently than I have been which is nice. I can whole heartedly recommend this for beginners.
