four string fretless

This is my fourth Kala U-Bass. The others are all hollow body basses with the silicon strings, and all were great. This one is definitely a keeper. I use them all in live shows and this will be no exception to that. Great tone and fantastic feel. The weight balance and neck access are perfect. I thought it might be difficult to handle because it's really small, but it feels very natural. I play all different neck lengths so that wasn't a challenge at all and the fretless sound is so distinct. side note, It wasn't difficult to find a strap for it due to its length. It was about the same as all the other basses I have pretty much. I did add strap locks and it was an easy little mod. The soft case it comes with is very nice. I still would buy a hard case if they make one eventually, but the soft is decent.

Why I like the fretless Bass.

I love its sound and the way that I can get around the fret board, especially the high end, with less pressure on the wire wound strings. I also have the older acoustic U-Bass with large rubber band strings which is still a great Bass, although it's hard to work the upper end. So presently I'm enjoying the solid body more than the acoustic Bass. Some day I may even buy a 5 string.

Kala Solid body Fretless is a big "thumbs up!"

I didn't think I would like this u-bass. I was so wrong! It's awesome! Sounds great, plays easy , tunes like a charm and I'm sad to say I haven't given my other two any action since I got this one! Ok, not too sad at all!
