To celebrate such a milestone, Kala Founder Mike Upton searched through Kala’s private stock of Hawaiian Koa to hand-select each beautiful top set in this 20th Anniversary collection. The striking solid Koa top is paired with solid African Mahogany back and sides, an Ebony fingerboard and bridge, trimmed with Rosewood binding, with Paua Abalone shell rosette and purfling that frames the body, neck and headstock.
Honoring Kala’s roots, the headstocks feature a wholly distinct custom California Poppy inlay that coalesces with all the other elements to make this line an ode to the first two homes of Kala Brand Music Co. — Hawaii and California. Includes a padded Kala 20th Anniversary Ukulele Gig Bag.

I'm so pleased I splurged on this special Concert Ukulele. I am only a beginner (using the excellent Kala App to learn very quickly). In addition to looking great, the sound is wonderful and it is a pleasure to play. Given the beauty of the wood, it is no wonder that there is no strap peg. I find using a strap helps me while playing my soprano ukulele, so it may take some time to get used to not using one for this slightly larger instrument. Oh . . . almost forgot . . . the case it came with is perfect for protecting the uke . Thank you Kala for making this unique ukulele and congratulations on your first 20 years.
