I've owned 13 Kala ukes over several years, from concert to baritone. I have had 8 baritones from several makers. The KA-ASFM-B-CE is the overall best of all of them. It plays beautifully. The electronics are very nearly the best I've ever had in an acoustic-electric instrument. The overall build quality is very very good. The playability and setup are perfect as received. The gold-tone and black tuners are a nice touch, and I'm a sucker for an open headstock.

I love my new little Baritone ukulele. Very comfortable to hold. It is not heavy. I like the strings for dinner comfort, and the available real estate on the fret board. Most of all I love the sound. Very smooth. Almost as good as my taylor guitar.

Everything about my purchasing experience with Kala was exceptional. Ordering online was easy, shipping to Hawai’i was quick, and my instrument arrived well packed and safe and sound. I appreciate the gig bag. But the best part was tuning up my baritone and letting loose! A great instrument with wonderful craftsmenship and a really nice sound at a super price. I haven’t plugged it in yet to work with the equalizer, but I am extremely happy with my purchase. I’m thinking of changing out the strings later for a brighter and crisper sound. This is the third Kala in my ‘ukulele collection and I love it! Mahalo Kala!

This is my goto uke!! I have only baritones. I have been pleased with Kala products (except for a teak baritone, which had unfinished frets) which I returned to Guitar Store.
Also have a Kala B-ME and a teak tri top. And a Solid Koa
Very solid feel, good sustain, and clear high strings. The all solid option is a big step up in the ukuleles' performance.

I am really enjoying this ukulele even more than expected--which is saying something as I have a Maple issue (can't stop buying Maple instruments :-)). It's just as warm and wonderful as I was hoping for, without being muddy in the least. I've already tried several sets of strings--very much liking the D'Addario Black Nylons for a wound set and the Uke Logic Carbons for unwound. Don't be misled by the "Carbon" name in the Uke Logics--they are quite dark. (I tried some bright strings first, just to test: fail).
The uke is a joy to look at and with the matte finish, it has a shimmery quality in the light. Captivating.
Truly affordable entry into solid wood ukuleles!
I love all 4 of my Kala's--also love the Transit gig bags, best ever.
