I started a few years ago learning the bass, but the fretboard was too long for me so I switched to six strings. My son has a bass and I was intrigued with it and liked the sound so I bought the bamboo version. It has the sound of a full size bass in a compact size. Unplugged it isn't all that loud, but good enough for messing around on the couch. Amplified the sound is nice, but I have to get a fret hole cover to eliminate the feedback.

I absolutely Love my Bamboo UBass! My Fiancée got it for me as a birthday gift, and we play music together all the time, so this is a great addition to our sound! It has such a nice mellow tone, and is such a solid, beautiful instrument! Even though Bamboo is technically grass, the uBass feels like it’s made of solid wood!
