John Driskell Hopkins
(Zac Brown Band)
Born in San Antonio, TX, and raised in Gainesville, GA, John Driskell Hopkins is best known for his work as a founding member and multi-instrumentalist in the Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band. Prior to joining, he formed the southern rock band Brighter Shade, with whom he still plays with today. He has also collaborated with bluegrass bands Dappled Grays and the award-winning Balsam Range. John graduated from Florida State with a degree in General Theater, and co-starred with Nick Jonas and Dermot Mulroney in Careful What You Wish For in 2015. John toured extensively with the Zac Brown Band following the release of their 2017 album, Welcome Home, and continues to find time to write and record projects on the side, releasing his own single ""Lonesome High"" featuring Coy Bowles in 2019. Along with enjoying his U•BASS, John's favorite Kala instrument to compliment the band's country and rock instrumentation is his custom Kala Elite USA Tenor Ukulele.
