Jerry Watts Jr. is a Los Angeles-based musician, producer, and educator who has appeared on hundreds of albums, with 3 GRAMMY® wins and 10 nominations (including 2 Latin GRAMMYs®) – as well as numerous film/TV soundtracks and DVDs.
His extensive international touring experience has taken him to more than 45 countries worldwide. Jerry’s eclectic resume lists recordings, performances, and collaboration with a diverse cross-section of artists spanning multiple genres of music – with a focus on original, creative, and improvised musics. The short list includes: Andy Summers, Andraé Crouch, Andy Timmons, Billy Childs, Dan Rosenboom, Dave Stewart, Dori Caymmi, Ginger Baker, Herbie Hancock, Keith Emerson, Marcus Machado, Airto Moreira, Mylène Farmer, Seay, Sergio Mendes, Simon Phillips, Tommy Walker, Wishful Thinking, Zane Carney, and countless others.
Watts is a member of the multiple GRAMMY® winning John Daversa Progressive Big Band and the Daversa Small Group. In addition, is also a sought-after clinician, and serves as Bass Department Chair at the prestigious Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) in Pasadena, CA.
Jerry currently plays the UBASS-SMHG-FS and the California Acoustic Electric Flame Maple U•BASS.
