Jim Mayer

Jim Mayer is a renowned bassist born in Tamil Nadu, India, before returning home with his family to St. Louis, MO. Jim started out playing jazz, receiving a National Endowment of the Arts study grant in 1978 at age 17. He attended the St. Louis Conservatory of Music from 1981-83, and soon after formed the pop trio P.M. P.M.'s producer and engineer introduced them to Jimmy Buffett, and the trio were invited to join his Coral Reefer Band in 1989. He also performs children's songs as Uncle Jim and started an anti-bullying educational program called the IM4U Teaching Program. Jim continues to write, record, perform, and educate today.
