Kala U-Bass Artist Oskar Cartaya

Born in New York City, Oskar Cartaya is a bassist, arranger, composer, musical director, and producer. Oskar moved to Bayamón, Puerto Rico when he was six years old, and later came to Los Angeles to study and teach at the Musicians Institute. His musical influences are heavily indebted to the places he has lived, helping shape his unique style. He has released two solo albums, the most recent, Bajo Mundo, in February 2017, and when performing live, he is backed by the Enclave. He has also worked with Sheila E., Tito Puente, Herb Alpert, and Spyro Gyra, to name a few. Oskar continues to write, record, produce, and perform.
