Ebony is a popular and sought-after acoustic tonewood just about everywhere, notable for its depth and clarity in its lower frequency. Its vibrancy carries over in equal measure to the visual: reliably beautiful with vertical figuring and a range of chocolate, umber and russet shades. Many of today’s most popular species of Ebony originate from India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and throughout Western Africa. For builders and players a like, Ebony is synonymous with reliability, quality and character. Here in our Premium Exotic series, this instrument’s high gloss finish accentuates the rich grain with a dazzling gleam to do this famed tonewood justice.

    Beautiful and Fun Instrument!

This is my first ukelele and I decided to go with a blemished but exotic wood higher quality one versus basic kid starter uke. I love it so much. I also play piano and guitar (not regularly for a while now) so am familiar with music and strumming and chords etc. Although I had to learn new fingering and even different concepts for strumming the uke, it was so much fun to play along with my favorite songs that it barely felt like work. Many helpful uke videos out there for tuning, strumming, etc. which helped me not waste time with bad habits. I also cannot find a blemish on this uke, it looks amazing to me. I highly recommend going this route if you want a quality instrument but still love to save money. I debated about getting one with an electric plug for playing in church and fine with my decision now, but I might end up getting another just to save myself the hassle of mic-ing this one, so maybe something to consider if you at all might want to play for a crowd. I have wanted a uke for a few years and really wish I had bought one instead of a guitar all those years ago, I would have stuck with it much longer and it's so much easier to transport places. Get the ukelele, don't hesitate!
