It is a beautiful instrument. I love the stain of the wood and the high gloss. It sounds beautiful. It’s my 6th ukulele, three of which are Kala ukuleles. This is my first 8 string ukulele and I’m really enjoying it. It’s easy to tune and play. I recommend this ukulele and all Kala ukes very highly!

This is my first 8-string and I LOVE it! It does take a bit of extra pressure to play the chords, but I got used to it in a day or two. It has a wonderful rich sound and is gorgeous to look at. I feel like my fingers are floating over the strings when I strum. I could not be happier with my purchase.

I was excited to try my first 8 string uke, and having purchased a few other Kala ukes in the past, I knew the quality would be good. The quality of this one is exceptional! It is set up correctly, has great Aquila strings, and a beautiful glossy finish. The neck in particular is really great - big enough for the extra strings but not too clunky. I am so impressed that they could make such a great instrument for the price point. I have already written some songs on it, and while I own a LOT of stringed instruments (like 50 or 60?!?), this one has been my go-to lately for inspiration and ease of playing.
One important note - I read and watched reviews that say this is a solid mahogany instrument. It is not - it’s all laminate. But that doesn’t really take away from its sound and vibe. It looks and sounds great!
