Small blemishes but great customer support.
It was very playable, and for the price the construction is exceptionally tough. I just had some issues with some of the paint flaking. it was predominantly a superficial issue, but I reached out to Kala and they confirmed it was perhaps a bad batch and offered to refund or replace the instrument. I think the 'go anywhere' part of this instrument is an attractive tagline, but I think that having reasonable expectations about the wear that may occur is probably worth keeping in mind. I've increased the stars due to customer support, and I've upgraded to a different ukulele that is a little less rugged and a little more polished.
Good for children
I feel like this would be a perfect type for a child to learn on. It’s plastic and feels good but lacks the feeling of a real wood uke. Looking back I wish I would’ve got the real would uke. It sounds good but I still think the real wood ukulele is superior.
My First Ukulele
I love this little uke! I'm so glad I went with a concert size, the tone is nice and full but still has that sweet ukulele sound. It was the perfect price for a starter ukulele, and I'm having such fun practicing.
Good for it's intended purpose
The Waterman line is great for camping, the beach, etc. because it is inexpensive and durable. Only complaints are the action is pretty high, so you get more buzzing than most ukes, and the pain on the frets wears off too easily. Fix those two things and this would be 5 stars all the way.
