The Revelator® Nautilus Torrefied Spruce Tenor features a heat-treated spruce top that brings a new dimension to Kala's award-winning design.
Torrefaction heats the wood before it's built, unlocking a rich amber hue and a tone that rings out punchy, articulate, and clear. Combined with mahogany back and sides for added depth, the top produces a mature, resonant voice reminiscent of a vintage instrument. The construction is rounded out with a Royal Blackwood fingerboard, headplate, and bridge, and Ivoroid binding with double black purfling, making for a tenor as refined in appearance as it is in sound.
This tenor stands up to enthusiastic play, and its slimline electro-acoustic body ensures it has all of the acoustic tone and volume of a full body ukulele.
Handcrafted top to bottom in our Petaluma, California workshop, this is a tenor built for collectors and tone-chasers seeking a modern take on a vintage voice.
