New member to my KALA Family

The 2 G strings give the chords a lot more body when strumming. The balanced tone is pretty good out of the box which will get better over time as I play it more. Dropped in a MiSi pickup which helped open up the sound of this uke when playing live. Only wished that Kala had made the nut a full 1.5" as it's slightly small being a bass player who just started playing Ukulele. Planning on replacing the stock strings with Worth browns like the ones that came stock on my Kala Elite Koa Tenor. I also use a Kala Spruce top Ziracote Super Tenor for some of my gigs and this 5 has it's own merits. For the money a very impressive and well made Ukulele.

    Excellent instrument.

The 5-string tenor is a great addition to my Kala collection. Good tone quality and great projection.

    Great instrument

Love the sound of the double G string. It gives the ukulele a unique sound for a variety of musical styles. Adding an active pickup would be welcomed bonus.

    Outstanding 5 String Tenor

I've been playing ukulele for about 11 years and became interested in the 'more than four' types of ukuleles about five years ago. I already owned a Kala 8- and 6- string tenors when I purchased this 5 string for Christmas. It is an outstanding instrument and I'm glad that it finally rounds out my collection of more than four models. The addition of the low G adds incredible depth of my playing. I strongly recommend this model for who wants to really stand out and stand apart from the others.

a beautiful full resonant sound - takes ukulele to another level - the fifth string (low G) while retaining the hi G is phenomenal
