The Solid Cedar Top with Acacia back and sides in a shiny, gloss finish, trimmed out in Rosewood binding is a sleek combination. We added an Abalone rosette, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and open gear black tuners.

Cedar has a soft, lush tone that lends well to finger style playing. It has a natural, loud projection and is often recommended as the best ukulele for playing on stage. Killer tone and great for finger picking

The solid cedar top is so warm for fingerpicking. There is a little bit of a learning curve with the doubled G on how I approach the picking. Strumming is great too, a lot of really good warm full tone from the doubled G. Super happy I impulse bought this. Another great Kala for my collection.

New member to my KALA Family

The 2 G strings give the chords a lot more body when strumming. The balanced tone is pretty good out of the box which will get better over time as I play it more. Dropped in a MiSi pickup which helped open up the sound of this uke when playing live. Only wished that Kala had made the nut a full 1.5" as it's slightly small being a bass player who just started playing Ukulele. Planning on replacing the stock strings with Worth browns like the ones that came stock on my Kala Elite Koa Tenor. I also use a Kala Spruce top Ziracote Super Tenor for some of my gigs and this 5 has it's own merits. For the money a very impressive and well made Ukulele.

    I absolutely love this

I love the high G because it reminds me of sunny skies and ocean. And I love the love G because...you know. How to choose?

Now you dont have to! Both together sound great!!! I love it!!!

I do plan to replace strings with Aquila Reds, as I do with all my ukes.

    Best,

    Lauren

This ukulele is the perfect fit for me.

I am really glad I decided to buy this (not-my-first) ukulele. True, I did change the strings to fluorocarbon (my personal preference, YMMV). But otherwise, I find no flaws in it. It sounds great, too (with the new strings). Plus, if someone asks if I have a Tenor Ukulele, I can reply "Yes". And, if they as if it is a Hi-G or a Lo-G uke, I can also reply, "Yes"!
