I bought the Acacia Solid Body Tenor Ukulele for my wife as a surprise. I play a California U-Bass and thought it would be a great match. She played a couple of pieces on it and was in tears and had goosebumps it sounded so good. The craftsmanship was great. Thanks again KALA for a wonderful product
Really nicely made, neck is great. Obviously needs an amp to be heard, but that is the point. You can play without feedback at loud volumes. It sounds close to an acoustic uke if you EQ it a bit, but it can also sound like an electric instrument with effects and amp tone. Note that because it has a Piezo pickup, some effects wont work that well because of the high input impedance. Case is OK, would be nice if a bit more padding to protect the neck and headstock.
I love this ukulele! It is smooth to play, has a great sound and brings a whole new dimension to the sound you can create with a uke. I am thrilled!
Not sure what I was expecting, but it is well made and plays well. Intonation is not spot on as you move up the frets. It’s very slippery and hard to hold onto even with a strap. Maybe I just need to get used to holding such a slim uke. Sounds good plugged into the Kala amp. The tone button doesn’t seem to do a whole lot unless turned up all the way. I want to use it to practice more quietly and liked the idea of plugging earphones into the amp. It sounds very clear fingerpicked. I need to spend more time with it to get really comfortable with it I think. I’m happy it has a low G string.
This ukulele feels great to the touch. The neck is not too thick. When not plugged in, it’s QUIET, which is great for practicing late at night. Cool beans.
