This is a gorgeous Ukulele with a beautiful tone. I couldn't find a blemish, but someone else saw a pinprick sized flaw in the finish that is only seen on close inspection. The contoured top edge where the right arm rests is a welcome touch. I found these in the sale section and needed a tenor instrument so this was perfect. I am a beginner but part of a group. The woods are beautiful and the gloss and matte finishes are a nice touch. The bag is well padded and the fit is snug so everything stays put. I've played/studied music all my life, and it is obvious this is a high quality instrument that I'll keep for a long time.

Kala Contour Spruce/Rosewood cutaway tenor is a beta well made ukulele. From the start you feel the quality of manufacturing. Playability is excellent and so is sustain. What really sets this instrument apart is the EVEN tone it produces all over the neck - no matter the position. Original Super Nylgut strings are good (although Kala installed them incorrectly - one small minus there). I swapped them for Worth Browns BT63 and imho those are not good match for the Spruce top - too bright. I will probably go back to Aquila strings - either Red or B-Blacks. Lack of strap button is a small issue - I play my ukulele on thigh pillow.
