Kala Artist
Ariana Savalas
Ariana Savalas gained international fame as one of the founding members of vintage phenomenon, Postmodern Jukebox. A singer, songwriter, dancer, and multi-instrumentalist, the PMJ princess has solidified herself as the musical burlesque queen and the mistress of the modern Moulin Rouge! Her collaborations with Postmodern Jukebox, timeless in a way that parallels her own original music, have garnered hundreds of millions of views and repeatedly reached #1 on the iTunes charts. She’s traveled the world on tour, from Vienna to Singapore, performing for thousands in renowned venues such as Radio City Music Hall, The Greek Theater, and the O2 in London.
Now, with the release of her first major studio album, The Dead Dance, Ariana delves even further into the alternative and avant-garde depths of her artistry. The wonderful collection of profound, mysterious, mischievous, and somehow erotic songs on her record seems to build its own little world, reminiscent of the art-pop stars in the days of Annie Lennox and David Bowie while simultaneously harkening to the dark, mystical world of the Weimar German Cabarets and Parisian Burlesques which formed Savalas’ life and career. The ukulele serves as one of Ariana's choice accompanist and songwriting companions. You can find her performing and recording with her bedazzled Kala cedar-top tenor.
