One Of The Best Ukes I’ve Ever Bought

Okay, so mine is a bit of a special one; because, mine is the one that’s in the pictures on this website (also pictured in this review).

All the other All Solid Trembesi Metropolitan Soprano Ukuleles (which there are not a lot out in the wild) I’ve seen have had tuning machines with black buttons and a different gear ratio.

The ebony used isn’t jet black (and that works to its benefit), and has these beautiful caramel streaks running through both the fingerboard and bridge.

The gloss finish on the body seems to be applied very well, and isn’t overly done in a way that would take away from sound/looks.

The neck feels lovely, with a smooth satin finish, that wears down to a nice sheen when played heavily for some time.

Slightly larger body, overall, than the average soprano, really incredible sound coming from that trembesi.

The sound is a whole other thing.

This is my second-ever all-solid ukulele (my first, being a KA-CT-SA-TG).

This little uke stands toe to toe with, or surpasses, any other uke I’ve played against (whether mine, or someone else’s).

I don’t think there are many- if any -ukes that could ever drown this one out; I teach uke club at my library, and the classroom gets… cacophonic, at times- yet, I can still always be heard.

A truly beautiful little uke, in both sound, and aesthetics.

Get one, if you have the chance.

I believe it being handmade makes a huge difference in just about everything about the instrument.

    A splurge that paid off

This is a terrific little ukulele. Clean sound and easy to play. A year end sale price made it irresistible, but it would have been worth the investment at a higher cost.

    Very nice sound!

I love the sound of this new instrument! I had an issue with the first one sent to me, and the folks at Kala made it quick and easy to exchange for another one. I am impressed with the rich and resonant sound of such a small instrument. I was hesitant to change from a concert to a soprano, but felt the need to do so, because I travel so often and the soprano is much easier to fit into my carryon for air travel. So far, both the instrument and the service from Kala have been excellent and I will do business with them again!

This instrument is beautifully finished, speaks with great presence, and holds a tune wonderfully.
