This All Solid Mahogany Tenor XL from Kala is another fantastic addition to their lineup. It has a warm, woody, and balanced tone with great sustain, perfect for everything from mellow fingerpicking to more dynamic strumming. The solid mahogany construction gives it a classic sound that really sits well in any mix.
The XL size gives you extra string spacing and projection, which I love for both comfort and tone. It's super playable and feels like a refined instrument meant for serious musicians. The flame maple binding adds a touch of elegance, and the slotted headstock gives it that pro-level vibe.
Like other XL models, you’ll need a baritone case—I use the archtop baritone case from Kala, and with some padding, it fits perfectly.
If you’re looking for another flavor in the Tenor XL range, this is a beautiful one to have in the collection. Highly recommend it!

I bought this Super Tenor awhile ago and shared a previous positive review. Last week, and just for fun, I strung it up w/ D'Addario Titanium Baritone strings. Tuned it DGBE w/o any problems. The new sound absolutely blew me away! Now this super Tenor absolutely BOOMS with rich vibes! The Baritone strings have completely changed the character of this awesome uke for the better! You gotta try this!:)

I love the room on the fretboard. That is the big deal for me with my clumsy hands. I changed out the low G string because I prefer a more traditional uku sound. I am finding it easier to keep in tune and the sound seems to be improving as I use it and keep it out in the atmosphere. I am new to ukulele playing so I don't have much experience getting a new instrument and seeing its voice change as you use it for a few weeks post taking it out of the box. All and all, I am very happy with my Kala super tenor.

As an owner of several tenor ukes from various brands I can say that this ukulele feels and fits my hand best. I have fatter fingers so the added length in the first position is fantastic. It sounds awesome and is definitely a show stopper in the looks department as well. The decision making process was eased by the excellent customer services provided online by Jan-Michael. Kala continues to be a great manufacturer. I will be back for more ukes from Kala as I have a bad case of UAS (ukulele acquisition syndrome).
