I initially ordered the wrong size ukulele for my son, and the people at Kala really worked with me to make it easy to exchange it for this particular ukulele. The wood is smooth and beautiful and more importantly the sound quality is rich. Because ukuleles can sometimes fall out of tune easily, we appreciate that this model (EQ) has a built-in tuner, and my son has fun plugging it into his amp and using various guitar pedals to create different sounds. That said, this ukulele sounds best when played acoustically in its simplest form. We also ordered the ukulele song book and a guest in my house recently made the comment that "it sounds like Hawaii in your house". The learning curve was quick, and my son says it's so much fun to play. He's been learning new songs every day.
