I have both a Makala Soprano and Concert Mahagony. Started out on the Soprano to see if I would like the uke. I did and went to the Concert several years back because the size was better for me. Love the sound of the Makala, but wanted something new and different in an "upgrade," not that there is anything bad I can say about the Makala. I love the look and sound of the Pacific Walnut. I can notice a brightness to the sound over the Mahagony. To me, it projects better. The strings are breaking in (have been playing it for three weeks now). I'm really enjoying this quality instrument and I hope my strumming will do it justice!
