    Love my Revelator

I’m amazed by this instrument. I think the thing that’s most surprising about it is the feel of it in your hands. It’s so light and the thin body makes holding it so comfortable and it’s so beautiful to look at.

The sound is very satisfying. It’s rich and mellow with a clear solid tone. When I get a new ukulele the first thing I think about is what strings I should put on it, not with the Revelator. The combination of Worth Browns and the wound low G are perfect.

All in all this is now my favorite ukulele.

    Sexy awesome uke

As a guitarist, who does uke jams, I wanted to take my ukulele playing to a higher level. I saw the ukulele as a tool to study a section of the guitar (strings 1-4, starting at the 5th fret). This uke is awesome, people want to test drive it at jams, it works great for leads, except on the 4 highest fret. It encouraged me to play the uke a lot more, in the arsenal of other instruments. Of course, it is a sexy uke! Thank you Kala for coming out with this awesome product.

    No volume control?

This is my second Kala Uke. I love Korina tonewood so I went all-in on this lovely instrument. My acoustic tenor sounds rich compared to this, but I expected that because of the thin body. What I didn’t expect was the lack of a volume control. Any acoustic electric guitar I have at least has a volume control, and a tone control is a plus. This could get sketchy onstage with feedback. I still love it, but I’m hoping for a retrofit.

We appreciate the purchase and feedback, John!

Part of what make the Revelator special is its incredibly slim design (with astounding acoustic output) and very simple EQ. While we understand the desire, and we researched the feasibility - adding a volume pot (or any other control) would alter the unique acoustic structure of the instrument and it may affect the sound or construction - so we had to forgo the option.
We hope you understand and continue to enjoy the instrument. Perhaps a volume pedal might be a solution for your rig?
