Tone Trials - Matthews Effects The Chemist
Looking for inspiration in new sounds, we reached out to some of the amazing, current pedal builders for help. We were lucky enough to have some accept our challenge and send us some of their wares to test out. We’ll be testing them out on both ukulele and U•Bass and hope we can inspire you with some new and interesting sounds.
Welcome to the third installment of Tone Trials!
If you missed last week's trial you can see it here.
This installment features The Chemist from Matthews Effects paired with a Kala Elite USA Doghair Mahogany Baritone ukulele. The Chemist is an atomic modulator with three algorithms to add texture to your sound. Select between chorus/vibrato (CO), octave (LI), and phaser (IR) modes to add subtle or radical modulation. Switch between multiple sounds by assigning your preferred mode and settings to the two available channels and easily select which is active by using the top footswitch. This versatile pedal can dial up classic vintage modulation textures or launch you into orbit with celestial sounds. Sam shows one of the many unique sounds available in this otherworldly modulation pedal.
